Big Dreams is Out!

Published June 2024

It has been a while, and unfortunately, I haven’t kept up with the blog the way I would have liked. Life has been very busy. I had my second baby in April, and I’m doing my best to settle into motherhood of both a new baby and a toddler.

Despite the busyness of my personal life, over the summer, I released one of my favourite books I’ve ever written!

Big Dreams was released in June. It is a feminist story that challenges gender norms while celebrating a little girl who plays football. It has received the most amazing feedback from readers and reviewers alike, with Readers’ Favorite saying:

"An Inspiring tale about inclusion and empowering girls, BIG DREAMS is sweet, heartwarming, and profound. This is the kind of book all parents should introduce to their kids.” -Readers’ Favorite Awards

Not only has this special book been so well received, but it has the most amazing ‘story behind the story’. When I was writing the book, my ultimate dream was to somehow include real women working in professional football in the book. Well, dreams do come true. While writing, I connected with some incredible women/heroes/legends who are smashing glass ceilings in the CFL, an otherwise male-dominated sport. One of those legends is Tanya Henderson, the first woman to ever coach full-time in CFL history. At the back of the book are words of inspiration from Tanya, as well as other women coaching in professional football! Contributors include:

I am so incredibly grateful to each of these women for their beautiful words that have helped this book become what it is. More than that, I am so grateful for the legacy they are leaving to future generations of girls and women. They are all true trailblazers!

This special book has brought me to some neat places already, in only a few months. Keep your eyes on the next post to learn about where the journey has gone. And, make sure to grab a signed copy! Anyone who orders will also receive a signed card from living legend, Tanya Henderson.
